To me, nothing rings in spring like the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical Carousel with all its fishermen and clambakes. (Is it too late to grow up in Maine?)
It may still be chilly here in New York, but spring came early for me this year. Last night, I took a train to Lincoln Center to see a production starring Kelli O'Hara and Nathan Gunn with the NY Philharmonic. It was heartbreaking and moving and the music was glorious. Not a dry eye in the house.
The line
"Longing to tell you
but afraid and shy
I'd let my golden chances pass me by...."
kills me.
