I'm very late to the party, but I watched the Beasts of the Southern Wild recently, and I'm a fan. Fresh, beautiful, and moving. Gosh I wish I'd seen it in theaters.
I know I am not the first to say this but I was amazed by Quvenzhané Wallis (special!) and the actor who plays her father Dwight Henry. First time actors. How did they do it?
I also loved the film score. There's this sad yet triumphant spirit to the music that fits the film so well.
