I don't understand a word of this (Oh I wish I did - One day I WILL learn French!) but I love this trailer for the french documentary Tabarly that came out a few years ago. I keep coming back to it every now and then - the vintage footage, the beautiful shots of the boat being tossed by the gigantic waves (reminiscent of Tacita Dean), not to mention Yann Tiersen's beautiful score (he also composed the Amelie soundtrack).
The documentary is about Eric Tabarly who is considered to be the father of French yachting and competed successfully up until he was in his late 60s. He died in 1998 when he was knocked off of his yacht and was lost at sea. His body was recovered five weeks later by French fishermen.
When a trailer that you don't understand a word of gives you goosebumps you know it's well done. WOW. This looks amazing. Do they not have it with English subtitles...? I need to research this asap. Thanks for sharing. You really have wonderful taste!
