At the dividing line

Speaking of 'On the Road', it reminded me of some of my favorite lines from the book. I remember the excerpt below, in particular, struck such a chord with me when I first read it - that feeling of lostness and displacement, of not knowing who you really are - I knew that feeling. I still know that feeling.

  1. "at the dividing line between East of my youth and West of my future"...BRILLIANT. Thank you for sharing this. I know the feeling well too.

  2. I read it so long ago I'd forgotten this excerpt. It's wonderful and makes me want to dust off my copy and read it again. Thank you.

  3. Oh I'm so glad! This quote + Simon and Garfunkel's The Boxer + The Graduate = all defined my gray post-college days, I think. So kind of you to respond, Kate and Denise!

The exchange of ideas is a key part of the human experience, don't you think? I would love to hear from you.
