Being a huge fan of David Lean and his film Brief Encounter, I rushed to see a theatre production that was sort of a beautiful love letter to the film at St. Ann's Warehouse this week. I'd been wanting to see this production ever since I had heard it won an Olivier award after it ran in London this year.
And it didn't let me down. Simply put, one of the best pieces of theater I saw all year, and it made me want to see the movie again.
